Breakfast Bake: delish, easy, AND cheap!

You know those little short videos that have been showing up everywhere on social media? The ones that show how to make food, that take the recipes step by step?

Well Allen found one last week and sent it to me. It’s for a breakfast casserole type dish. (Allen hates the word casserole so I try and substitute “bake” where I can!) Anyhow, it looked pretty good so I picked up everything it called for and made it yesterday for dinner. BUT I cut the recipe in half, almost…

Breakfast Bake

  • 4 refrigerated biscuits, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 lb sausage, cooked
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 3tbs butter
  • 3tbs flour
  • Salt & Pepper

Spray a 2qt casserole dish with Pam (or the Dollar Tree equivalent). Spread the biscuit pieces in the bottom. Layer the sausage on top. Sprinkle the cheese.

Whisk the eggs with 1/4 cup of milk and salt & pepper. Pour those on top.

Melt butter in a pan. Whisk in flour cook 3-4 min. Add in milk, slowly, whisking to combine. Add salt & pepper to taste. Cook until thickened. Pour over everything.

Pop it in a 350 degree oven for 35-45 min.

~OR~

a 325 degree convection oven for 55 min.

Let it stand when you take it out for at least a few minutes, then dig in!

Allen said it was like a little piece of heaven in his mouth!

Enjoy!
