The first RV park I ever really lived in!  This is where Allen was when I came down on a Greyhound to visit for 2 weeks.  That 2 weeks has somehow morphed into 3+ years and counting!22226_10200266544296584_943666954_nMost recently we stayed here for a month in August 2016. $504 plus electric at 13.5 cents/kW for a back in site, 50amp, FHU. The sites are sand/grass with concrete patios and picnic tables. IMG_3231.jpgThere’s lots of shade throughout the park which really helps with the electric costs in the summer in Florida!

There are 3 laundry rooms spread throughout the park. $1.50 to wash, $1.50 to dry (there are also a few giant commercial dryers that are fantastic and cheaper than the regular ones if you can snag them before anyone else).

There are 2 shower houses but we didn’t use them this time. They have an outdoor pool that is wonderful on a hot day! Most of the time I’m the only one there. IMG_8176.jpgThey also have a little dog park back in the corner of the park, shuffleboard, and horseshoes. There’s a few ping pong tables by the pool and a rec hall where they host bingo and poker on certain days of the week.

There’s a Winn Dixie, Dollar Tree, Party Liquors, Hungry Howie’s, Subway and a sports bar all in a little shopping plaza within walking distance of the park. Across the street on the weekends don’t miss the Big Top Flea Market for everything you could possibly want plus some really cheap, fresh produce. Not too far away is Davis Dog Beach, an off leash play area in Tampa Bay that we took Charlie to one Sunday!

We visited St. Pete’s and Clearwater Beach this time. Honeymoon Island State Park back in 2013. IMG_5123.jpgThe RV Park is only about a mile from I-75, easy to get to. Some of the spots are a little tight to get into when you have a rig as big as ours, but it’s doable! I’d stay here again if we have more work in the area.

The actual campground is only on the left half of the screen shot. The right side is storage.

Here’s my first review:

I met some really nice people here.  They had a pool (too cold to swim in while I was there). The showers were nice. The laundry was kind of small but the machines were decent.  I’ve since met a couple who stayed here recently and they had nothing good to say about the management so I’m not sure what’s going on there.  It is right across the street from a huge flea market that was amazing! And Winn Dixie and a liquor store are within walking distance.  Tampa is a little far, probably a half hour on the highway, but we went to the Gasparilla Pirate Festival, and the Hard Rock Casino.  There are some chain restaurants close by, and some local bar/restaurant type places with live music.
